Active 6 Volunteer

Ages XX+

Serve as a positive role model for 6th graders in our Active 6 after school program. The Active 6 after school program is offered in seasonal blocks during the school year. The time commitment is one hour per week per seasonal block.

Riverbank Run Course Volunteer

Ages XX+

The YMCA Riverbank Run is an annual fundraising race held annually on the last Saturday of April. Course volunteers help direct traffic, direct racers, and cheer on participants. The time commitment is 8:45 a.m.–12:15 p.m. and all volunteers must complete a 30-minute orientation on race day. 

Volunteer Fundraising Campaigner

Ages 18+

As an Annual Support Campaign volunteer, you'll help the YMCA raise funds for its financial assistance program by asking local businesses for donations. The Annual Support Campaign is held January–March. The time commitment is flexible and volunteer campaigners set their own hours.

Youth Basketball Coach

Ages XX+

Coach young athletes as YMCA Volunteer Basketball Coach. We offer two volunteer opportunities annually: November–December and January–February. This is a six-week volunteer opportunity. The time commitment includes leading a 60-minute practice and coaching a 60-minute game.

Youth Soccer Coach

Ages XX+

Coach young athletes as YMCA Volunteer Soccer Coach. We offer two volunteer opportunities annually: April–May and September–October. This is a six-week volunteer opportunity. The time commitment includes leading a 60-minute practice and coaching a 60-minute game.

Background Checks

Any YMCA volunteer working with youth needs to complete a background check.

Child Abuse Prevention Training

All YMCA volunteers are required to undergo child abuse prevention training. This training is offered online.

Annual Support Campaign

All volunteers will need to complete a brief Annual Support Campaign training with the YMCA's director of fund development.

Riverbank Run

All volunteers will need to complete a 30-minute, drop-in orientation on race day.

Youth Programs

Each volunteer must undergo a background check and a XX-minute child abuse prevention training prior to the start of their volunteer position. Volunteer coaches may need to complete concussion training as well.
