CPR/AED Certification

Ages 13+

This is an American Heart Association CPR/AED certification. Courses are taught by a certified American Heart Association instructor. 

Upcoming Sessions:
  • Courses are offered the 3rd Thursday of each month from 6:15–9:15 p.m.
Cost:
  • $66 w/ YMCA membership ($69 for non-YMCA members)

First Aid/CPR/AED Certification

Ages 13+

This is an American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED certification. Courses are taught by a certified American Red Cross instructor. 

Upcoming Sessions:
  • Courses are offered the 1st Wednesday and the 2nd Thursday of each month. Classes run 5:30–9:30 p.m.
Cost:
  • $66 w/ YMCA membership ($69 for non-YMCA members)

Lifeguard Certification

Ages 13+

We offer American Red Cross Lifeguard certification. All classes are mandatory and seven hours online course work are required. Certification includes certificates in lifeguarding, first aid, and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer.

Upcoming Sessions:
  • This course is offered selectively throughout the year. Classes require at least four participants. Contact Joann Kump at jkump@ymcamissoula.org for information on courses or how to request one.
Cost:
  • Full Certification: $220 (includes online training manual)
  • Recertification: $150 (includes online training manual)

No. All certification courses are open to the general public. 

The American Heart Association CPR/AED course is a single three-hour class. The Red Cross CPR/AED/First Aid course is a single four-hour class

The American Red Cross Lifeguard certification consists of 21.5 hours of in-person instruction and 6-7 hours of online work. 
 
Lifeguard recertification is also available and takes 9.5 hours.

All CPR/AED, First Aid, and Lifeguard certifications are good for two years. Recertification is available.

The YMCA is available to provide CPR and First Aid certification to Missoula-area businesses and organizations. Contact the Missoula YMCA's Aquatics Department at aquatics@ymcamissoula.org to learn more.
