Active 6 Membership
Grade 6
Missoula County 6th graders enjoy free YMCA membership! Students may register starting in June before their 6th grade year. Membership is good through August after their 6th grade year.
Review the facility agreements, then complete the registration form on this page to get started. Please allow 2-3 business days for your membership to be activated. You will need to stop by the YMCA with a parent/guardian to receive a check-in method and pick up your free Active 6 dri-fit T-shirt.

Join us at the YMCA for staff-led programs and activities! All programs take place after school at the YMCA and are drop-in only.

Active 6 Summer Camp
Entering Grades 6-7
Our week-long, half-day Active 6 camps are open to Active 6 participants. This camp is designed to help teens develop healthy habits, meet new friends, and gain independence in a supervised setting.

What to Expect
Free YMCA Membership
All Active 6 participants receive free YMCA memberships, giving them access to the YMCA's facility for their entire 6th grade year.
Free After School Programs
Led by YMCA coaches, 6th graders will learn how to use the health and wellness areas like the cardio and weight decks, group fitness classes, climbing wall, and more.

Active 6 FAQs
Active 6 is a free program through the Missoula YMCA. There is no cost to participate in Active 6 membership or school-year programs. There is a nominal fee to participate in Active 6 summer camps.
Active 6 is open to all Missoula County 6th graders. Registration is ongoing throughout the year and students may register starting in June before their 6th grade year. Membership is good through August after their 6th grade year.
Fill out the form on this page start the online registration process. Please allow 2–3 business days for your student's membership to be activated. Active 6 participants will need to stop by the Y with a parent/guardian to receive a check-in method and pick up their free shirt.
Active 6 participants receive free YMCA membership. Students may sign up for Active 6 in June immediately following 5th grade. Their membership remains active until the August prior to 7th grade. Students receive free Active 6 dri-fit T-shirts, as well as access to free after school activities supervised by YMCA coaches.
Yes. Students in grades 6+ may work out in the YMCA's Health & Wellness Center. Students must complete a mandatory teen orientation prior to working out. Teen orientations are free and take approximately 30 minutes. Stop by the Heath & Wellness desk on the 2nd floor to schedule a free orientation.
Please note: Active 6 members wishing to use the fitness equipment or space must sign in on the Active 6 clipboard at the start to every visit. The clipboard is found at the Health & Wellness Center desk on the 2nd floor.
Yes. Sign up for a YMCA Household or Family membership during your child's Active 6 year and we'll waive your enrollment fee.
Yes. Active 6 programs are led by YMCA staff with the help of volunteers (ages 18+). Contact the Active 6 coordinator at active6@ymcamissoula.org to learn more.
