YMCA Membership FAQs
We'd love for you to join our YMCA community! Sign up online by clicking the button on this page. You may also sign up in-person by stopping by the Missoula YMCA at 3000 S. Russell St. during open facility hours.
When you sign up, you will need to pay a one-time enrollment fee and your first month of dues. (First-month dues are prorated if you sign up in the middle of a month). A valid photo ID is required on your first visit.

No. YMCA memberships are month-to-month*. When you sign up, you will need to pay a one-time enrollment fee and your first month of dues. (First-month dues are prorated if you sign up in the middle of a month).
Enrollment fees go to maintaining our facility and equipment. If you choose to cancel your membership and rejoin at a later date, you will need to pay the enrollment fee again.
*YMCA Loyalty Memberships, where you pay for a year of membership and get a month for free, are not month-to-month.
Yes. The following special rates are available and may be applied to any membership type. Rates must be applied in-house by staff. Call 406-721-9622 to learn more.
Student: $10 off Enrollment Fee and $10 off/mo for full-time enrolled students ages 19+.
Senior: $10 off Enrollment Fee and $8 off/mo on any membership with at least one active member age 65+.
Military: $10 off Enrollment Fee and $10 off/mo on any membership with at least one active member who is active duty military or a US veteran.
Child Care: $0 Enrollment Fee and 50% off Family or Household memberships for families currently enrolled in the Learning Center or Development Center.
Swim Team: $0 Enrollment Fee and $10 off/mo Youth memberships for youth currently enrolled in the Missoula YMCA Swim Team (MYST).
Yes. Children ages 6 weeks–11 years may be dropped off in our drop-in Child Watch Center. All children must have active YMCA memberships to use Child Watch. Day and month passes are available for non-members.
Children ages 7+ may use select areas of our Y including the pool and basketball gyms.
Yes. Financial assistance is available for Y membership and programs.
We also offer the following special rates on membership:
- Student: $10 off the Enrollment Fee and $10 off/mo for full-time enrolled students ages 19+.

Yes. We encourage our members to introduce their friends, family, and colleagues to the Missoula YMCA.
Family and Household Memberships include four guest passes per year. All other membership types include two guest passes per year. Day passes are also available for purchase.
A valid photo ID is required for all guests ages 18+.
Yes. We offer $10 off the Enrollment Fee and $10 off/mo on any membership type. Your membership account must have at least one active member who is active duty military or a US veteran.
Title 10 personnel are also eligible for Y membership. Contact Military OneSource or call 1-800-342-9647 to confirm your eligibility and receive an eligibility form.
Yes. Nationwide Membership allows you to visit other YMCAs nationwide while continuing to belong to a Home YMCA.* Nationwide Membership is included in your Missoula YMCA membership. Stop by the Missoula YMCA to enroll in Nationwide Membership.
(Your Home YMCA is the YMCA that you attend most frequently and pay your dues to. Nationwide Members who split their time—college students and seasonal residents—are encouraged to contact the YMCA they use most frequently to determine their Home YMCA.)

- Women's Locker Room
- Express Pods: This is a shared, non-nude community space with private restrooms and shower stalls with full-to-ceiling doors. This space also includes an adult changing table and a lactation express room.
- Day-Use Lockers: Lockers are available in all lockers. We also have two bays of lockers upstairs—one bay in our Health & Wellness Center and one bay in outside the Sunset Studio. You may bring your own lock or check one out at our Welcome Center.
- Locker Rentals: We also offer a monthly locker rental option for $10/mo. Ask our Welcome Center for details.
Yes. The Missoula Y has five private restrooms, each with grab bars and baby changing stations.
All members will need to sign our Facility Agreements before using the Y. These agreements are our Inherent Risk Waiver, Nationwide Membership Waiver, and YMCA Code of Conduct. Our Multimedia Waiver is optional.

The YMCA is open on most federal holidays. We are typically closed on the following annual holidays. Please check the schedule for exact dates and times.

- Annual Facility Closure (August/September; exact dates announced annually)
- Thanksgiving Day
- Christmas Day (half-day closure on Christmas Eve)

Your membership is your responsibility. You can make changes to or cancel your YMCA membership online or by calling 721-9622. You can also put your month on hold for up to three months with no penalty.
The Missoula YMCA's core values are honesty, caring, respect, and responsibility, which are defined as:

- Responsibility: To do what is right and be accountable for your behavior.
Members are expected to conduct the selves in a manner consistent with these Core Values, in addition to adhering to the Rules of Participation below.
Be Respectful:
- The Y campus and parking areas are drug-, alcohol-, and tobacco-free zones, as are sites of Y-sponsored activities. Members may not participate in Y programs if under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- Abusive, threatening, or foul language, hate speech, and harassing or aggressive behavior of any kind will not be tolerated and will be prosecuted.
- Aggressive behavior is not tolerated at the Y. Our staff, members, and program participants deserve to feel valued and safe. Any form of aggressive behavior while on YMCA property may result in removal, or terminated access to the facility. Aggressive behavior includes, but is not limited to: Physical assault, verbal harassment, abusive language, threats, and inappropriate comments.
- Using any type of recording devices, including cameras and phones, without consent in or on the YMCA campus is not allowed. Recording devices are NOT allowed in the locker rooms, restrooms, spas, sauna, or pool area. Violators will be prosecuted. Anyone wishing to photograph, video, or record anywhere in the Y must request permission from the Missoula YMCA Marketing Director—no exceptions.
- Theft and vandalism will be prosecuted.
Be Considerate:
- As a courtesy to other members, please refrain from talking and/or utilizing your phone in the Health & Wellness Center, Functional Training Center, or on indoor track.
- No soliciting of any kind is allowed on Y property or at Y-sponsored activities and events without express permission from Y management staff. Posted notices must also be approved.
- The Adult Men’s and Women’s Locker Rooms are for members ages 16 and up only. All other members, please use the Express Pod Changing Rooms or the single-use bathrooms.
- The YMCA is a shared space where all are welcome, fostering an environment of mutual respect and dignity.
Be Safe:
- Weapons including, but not limited to, firearms, stun-guns, and knives are not permitted in the Y, on Y property, or in a member’s possession at Y-sponsored activities. Violators will be prosecuted.
- Substance use such as tobacco/nicotine products, drugs, or alcohol use is not permitted while on YMCA property.
- Shoes and shirts are required for all genders. Appropriate athletic attire and non-marking athletic shoes are required on the track, in both gyms, the studio, Health & Wellness Center, and Functional Training Center. Appropriate swim attire is required in the pool.
- Food and drinks (other than water) are not permitted in exercise areas or gymnasiums.
- Children in 6th grade or older and up are permitted to access the Hub, the Youth Activity Center (YAC), the pool during open swim, both gyms, the Track, and the Climbing Wall. They may also use the Health & Wellness and Functional Training Centers after completing a free Teen Orientation with Health & Wellness staff.
- To ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all, lingering or unauthorized gathering in common areas, parking lots, or building entrances is not permitted.
Be Responsible:
- Children under the age of 11 must be accompanied by an adult (not an older minor sibling) in all areas of the Y unless checked into the Child Watch Center.
- Children ages 7 and up may access the pool during open swim, both gyms, the Hub, the YAC, and climbing wall without an adult. They are not permitted in the Health & Wellness Center, Functional Training Center, or on the indoor track.
- Individual departments and programs may have additional rules, requirements, and schedules. Please ask upon registration or check the YMCA app before participation.
