We are proud to lend US Coast Guard-approved life jackets free of charge to families and individuals. Sizes range from infant to adult.

Led by nationally recognized Head Coach Kirby Beierle, the Missoula YMCA Swim Team (MYST) is our year-round competitive youth swim team.
Open Swim
All Ages
Open swim is perfect for families, kids, and those wishing to enjoy the pool in an casual swimming setting. During open swim times, some or all lap lanes may be removed. Equipment such as pool noodles, kickboards, life jackets, and flippers are available.
Outdoor Splash Pad

Our outdoor splash pad operates September–May, and is free and open to the general public.

Our dry sauna is built from cedar and averages 183 degrees (ages 18+). Our hot tub averages 104 degrees (ages 6+ with adult supervision).

Our group, private, and parent-child swim lessons help Missoula kids and adults develop the skills and confidence needed to be safe in the water.
Water Fitness Classes

We offer instructor-led group water fitness classes for all abilities! Classes are included with YMCA membership.
What to Expect
Indoor 25-Yard Pool
Our all-seasons, six-lane indoor pool is perfect for lap swim, open swim, water fitness classes, and swim lessons. The pool temperature averages 84 degrees. Check the schedule for pool programs and availability.
Sauna & Hot Tub
Unwind after your workout or swim! Our dry sauna is built from cedar and averages 183 degrees. Our hot tub averages 104 degrees.
Outdoor Splash Pad
Located on the YMCA's Russell Street campus, our seasonal splash pad is free and open to the general public.

Yes. Water fitness classes and our coached Masters Swim workouts are both included in Y membership. Check our app or click the button below for current aquatics fitness classes.
Yes. The Aquatics Center is open to people of all ages and abilities. Lifejackets are available for checkout.
- Children ages 0-6 must be supervised by someone age 14+ who's in the pool and within arm's reach at all times.
- Children ages 0-14 must be supervised by someone age 14+.
- Children of all ages enrolled in a supervised program may also use the pool. The sauna and hot tub are available for children ages 16+—no exceptions.
Yes. We have two motorized pool lifts. One lift is located in the shallow (west) end of the pool and the other is located in the hot tub on the east end of the deck. Please ask a lifeguard for assistance to operate the lift.
Flippers, kickboards, aqua belts, aqua dumbbells, hand paddles, and snorkels are all welcome in our pool and available to borrow. Pool noodles, diving rings, balls, and Coast Guard-approved life jackets are allowed during open swim and also available to borrow.
We do not allow monofins, motoized swimming devices, or inflatables/floaties (including water wings).
The Missoula YMCA's Aquatics Center is included with YMCA membership. Non-members wishing to use the pool may purchase a day, month, or punch pass.
Non-swimmers must be accompanied by someone age 14+.
Yes. Rentals are available.

3rd Graders
Our Swim, Play, and Learn Aquatics Safety Habits (SPLASH!) Program partners with local elementary schools to provide free and low-cost water safety lessons to hundreds of third graders annually.
