Our Swim Team

Ages 5-18

Led by nationally recognized Head Coach Kirby Beierle, the Missoula YMCA Swim Team (MYST) is a competitive swim team for swimmers of all ages and abilities. Coach Kirby's swim philosophy focuses on developing swimmers physically, mentally, and emotionally while embracing the YMCA's core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility. Since its inception, MYST has sent countless swimmers on to swim at the collegiate level.

MYST also offers a pre-competitive program to help young swimmers offers a team environment while helping prepare them for the competitive program.

Registration, Crews, & Pricing

Registration is open year-round. Complete the Taste Test form above to get started.

Pre-Competitive Swim Crew

One 45-minute practice per week. This crew is for swimmers ages 5+ who want to try swim team before committing.

Littles Swim Crew

Four practices per week. This crew is for swimmers ages 5–11 who want to swim at a competitive level. 

Cost: $$

Middles Swim Crew

Eight practices per week. This crew is for swimmers ages 11–14 who want to swim at competitive level. 

Cost: $$

Bigs Swim Crew

Ten practices per week. This crew is for swimmers ages 14-18 who want to swim at competitive level.

Cost: $$

Angel Sharks Swim Crew

Two practices per week. This crew is for swimmers ages 5-18 who are neurodivergent and/or have cognitive disabilities, and who want to swim at competitive level.
