Ages 6 months–3 years

During YMCA Parent-Tot Swim Lessons, infants and toddlers will be safely introduced to the water alongside their parents/guardians. All YMCA swim instructors are certified and use the nationally recognized YMCA Swim Lesson curriculum, which focuses on water safety, skill progression, and building confidence in the water. With an easy-to-follow swim progression, the Y is a trusted choice for Missoula families.

All lessons take place in the Missoula YMCA's indoor pool.

1x Week Parent-Tot Swim Lessons

Four 30-minute swim lessons in a small group setting during the school year. Lessons are held once a week. Each swimmer must be accompanied by their parent/guardian. Offered seasonally in Fall, Winter, and Spring.

Cost for YMCA Members: $44

Costs of Non-YMCA Members: $55

25-Minute Lessons

Each lesson is 25 minutes long and led by a trained swim instructor. 

Water Safety for Families

Our parent-tot classes include water safety and drowning prevention resources for parents/guardians to help keep children safe.

No. Please only register your youth swimmer when registering for YMCA Parent-Tot Swim Lessons.

Bathing suits are required for all participants. Swimmers with long hair should tie their hair back from their faces. Please leave goggles at home. Scroll up and click the link to view a PDF of acceptable swim wear, 

No. Refunds and/or makeup classes are only provided should the pool be closed unexpectedly for a mechanical issue.

Yes. However, for the safety and privacy of all participants, you are only permitted to take photos or videos of your swimmer. As a reminder, cameras and cell phones are not permitted in locker or changing rooms.
