No-School Days

Grades EL–5

We offer full-day care on most MCPS and Hellgate no-school days. Camps are held at the YMCA and at Hellgate Elementary School. Breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack are provided daily and included with registration. 

Times:
  • Check-in is from 7:30–9:00 a.m.
  • Programming is offered from 9:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
  • Check-out is from 4:30–6:00 p.m.*

School Half Days

Grades EL–5

We offer half-day care on most MCPS and Hellgate half days. Camps are held at the YMCA and at Hellgate Elementary School. Lunch and an afternoon snack are provided daily and included with registration. Half-day care is only offered on designated school half days. 

Families are responsible for transporting their student to their designated site**.

Times:
  • Check-in is from 11:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
  • Programming is offered from 12:00 p.m.–4:30 p.m.
  • Check-out is from 4:30–6:00 p.m.*

**On Hellgate half-days, students may check themselves into the YMCA room at the school. Families are responsible for pickup. 

Spring Break Camp

Grades EL–5

We offer a full week of care during MCPS Spring Break. Camp is held at the YMCA. Breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack are provided daily and included with registration.

  • Check-in is from 7:30–9:00 a.m.
  • Programming is offered from 9:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
  • Check-out is from 4:30–6:00 p.m.*

*A $30 late fee will be charged for any pickup after 6:00 p.m.

The program registration fee includes a healthy breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack for your student.

Abuse-Prevention Training

The Missoula Family YMCA is committed to being a safe space for children and all families. All YMCA staff undergo extensive training around child abuse prevention. 

Full-Day Care

Our full-day School's Out Day Camp* starts at 7:30 a.m. and goes until 6:00 p.m.

School's Out Day Camp FAQs

No. YMCA School's Out Day Camp are open to all students in grades K–5. 

Yes. School's Out Day Camp is a separate program from YMCA After School. Click the button below to see upcoming School's Out Day Camp dates and to register your child.

Upcoming Programs

We offer two conveniently located program sites—the Missoula YMCA and Hellgate Elementary School.

  • The Missoula YMCA YMCA is located in midtown at 3000 S. Russell St.
  • Hellgate Elementary School is located in northwest Missoula at 2385 Flynn Ln., right off Mullen Road.

Families can check their child in between 7:30–9:30 a.m. Breakfast will be served during this time.

From there, we'll break into groups to enjoy outdoor time, activities, a field trip into the community, structured group games, and swimming at the YMCA's indoor pool. Lunch and an afternoon snack will be served during the day.

All children must be picked up by 6:00 p.m.

Please send your child with a swimsuit, towel, and weather-appropriate clothing. While lunch is provided, you may choose to send your child with a packed lunch. 

Half-day care pricing is only available on half-day school holidays. While you may pick your child up at any time during School's Out Day Camp, we do not offer half-day pricing options during full no-school days.

Yes. Hold your spot with a $5 deposit when you register for one or more days. The remainder of your balance can be scheduled for a later date. Balances must be paid at least two weeks prior to the start of programming.

Cancellations made more than two weeks prior to the date of programming will receive a full refund minus the deposit. 

The Missoula YMCA does not offer any refunds for cancellations made within the late registration period. Late registration begins two weeks prior to the date of programming.

Yes. YMCA Financial Assistance is available for School's Out Day Camp. You will need to apply for assistance before registering for the program.
