YMCA Summer Camp registration opens annually in March and spots fill quickly. Financial assistance is available through YMCA scholarships. Best Beginnings is accepted at our month-long camps.

Week-Long Camps

Our week-long camps run Monday–Friday week of summer. Half- and full-day camp options available.  

Month-Long Camps

Entering Grades 1-5

Our month-long camps (Camp Horizon and Camp Imagination) run Monday–Friday every week of summer. Camps are licensed through the state of Montana and accept Best Beginnings.

Preschool & Kinder Camps

Ages 4–7

Junior Counselors Program

Entering Grades 7+

Enjoy traditional camp activities while developing leadership skills through teambuilding activities.

Offered September–May on most MCPS and Hellgate no-school days.

What to Expect

Meals & Snacks

Daily breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack are included with your camp registration.

Extended Hours

YMCA Camps offer free before and after care for all full-day campers. Drop your camper off as early as 7:30 a.m. and pick them up as late as 6:00 p.m.

Highly Trained Counselors

YMCA counselors undergo 40 hours of required training including child abuse prevention, CPR/First Aid, ACES, and more.

Summer Camp FAQs

No. YMCA Summer Camp is open to members and non-members. YMCA members do receive early access to camp registration during a VIP registration period.

Yes. Camp Imagination and Camp Horizon are licensed through the state of Montana and accept Best Beginnings scholarships.

YMCA Summer Camp offers the longest hours of camp care in Missoula. Supervised full-day care runs from 7:30 a.m.–6:00 p.m. five days a week with intentional camp programming running from 9:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Half-day camps have varied start and end times.

The Missoula Family YMCA is committed to Healthy Eating and Physical Activity (HEPA) standards in all of its child care programs. Breakfast, lunch, and snack are provided through our participation with the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).
